奥升德关怀基金会被黄石学院(Yellowstone Academy) 评为年度优秀企业志愿者

The Ascend Cares Foundation, a nonprofit organization funded and led by employees of Ascend Performance Materials, has been recognized as the Corporate Volunteer of the Year by Yellowstone Academy.

In 2016, Ascend Cares adopted the first grade class at Yellowstone, a nonprofit private school for underserved children in Houston, and will continue working with the 35 students throughout their time at the school. Activities include hosting mentoring lunches and chaperoning field trips.

“We are honored to be awarded as Corporate Volunteer of the Year by Yellowstone Academy,” said Rachell Gold, director of the Ascend Cares Foundation. “With each visit, we feel that we are making a positive influence in the lives of these children.”

“Ascend is hands-on, consistent, supportive and they lead by example in every way,” said Jessica Mikell, director of corporate and community relations at Yellowstone Academy. “The kids absolutely love spending time with their Ascend mentors. Their visits often help sway the kids’ actions and academics, knowing that their grades and behavior must be up to par in order to participate. Ascend is wonderful and I hope they know that they are forever stuck with us.”

“We have organized many projects with the Yellowstone students,” said Sheree Fields, IT senior director and Ascend Cares Houston site leader. “We always look forward to seeing their smiling faces. Throughout the years, we’ve watched these children grow. We want to inspire the students and also teach them how to give back to other communities.”

Ascend Cares volunteers from the Ascend Houston office will support the children through their eighth grade year.
